Juno and the Paycock" by Sean O'Casey

The Irish Theatre Group returned to the first play it performed in Brussels 28 years ago - a classic piece of 20th century Irish theatre, 'Juno and the Paycock'.

Written by Sean O'Casey, 'Juno and the Paycock' explores the tide of events of 1922 in Ireland and the consequences as these events move to the tenements of Dublin. An uproarious play with extravagant characters and beautiful moments of poetry, O'Casey's masterpiece is timeless, embracing the power of human contact.

The ITG were delighted to welcome Lynne Vaughan as director of this memorable piece.

The play was  performed at 'Espace Senghor' from 12-16 September 2006.

A word from the Chairman

I would like to congratulate and thank everyone who was involved in 'Juno and the Paycock'. We have had a fantastic response and feedback from our nearly 800 strong audience and their words fully reflect the hard work and commitment put in by so many people. I would also like to thank the ITG committee for their support and backing, it was a leap of faith for all of us.

I look forward to working with all of you in the future.
