Mrs. Sweeney

Studio Theatre, 26 - 30 April 2005

"Mrs Sweeney", written by Paula Meehan, is a schizophrenically black comedy, "Mrs. Sweeney" deals with a family in the aftermath of their daughter's death from AIDS, brought about by drug abuse. Buoyed up by laughter, Lil Sweeney gathers her dysfunctional friends round her and copes. Her husband retreats more and more into a private world obsessed by pigeons while friend Oweny hunts down CIA conspirators in his Ma's bathroom.

The production was staged in the Studio Theatre from 26-30 April 2005, and was directed by Glenn Vaughan.
