The Way You Look Tonight

Written by: Niall Williams

Directed by: Colum Hatchell

Performed: 17-20 and 23 -27 November 2004 in the Studio Theatre in Schaerbeek

Information on the play:

A mother who loves her family so much they can’t stand to be near her. A father whose life is devoted to looking after his invalid wife. Three children looking to the future but never forgetting the past

Set in a rural post office as the old telephone exchange is being removed, The Way You Look Tonight explores the breakdown in communication in a family. Katherine, the mother, attempts to reopen the lines of communication with her husband and children while her physical health continues to disimprove.

A tough, warm, emotional, Irish play, this is a story of love, guilt and the power of imagination.
