The World's
Wife

27-31 March 2007
Carol Ann Duffy's The World's Wife received great critical acclaim upon its
public reception in 1999. In this staged production, all thirty poetic
monologues were shared among six actresses. Their wives discuss and declaim -
with great insight, intelligence and wit - to defend or defame their men, their
"Princes", the World himself. As myth and fairy tale, the Bible and western
faith, the modern Humanities and contemporary culture take the public stand, it
is the wives of the world who exchange the better ideas; offer the sager advice;
and ultimately command the final version of events. A production that was one
not to be missed... not even for the World himself!
